With an 18th century recipe for saddle soap I have a better than average product. Rendered
beef fats involves fats specifically surrounding the beef kidneys and boiling with salt and water for hours to process the
finest grade of tallow. This is the same grade of tallow used for candles in that era. Caustic lye is a portion of the recipe
combined with, beeswax, mineral oil, and neatsfoot oil to produce a tried and true leather conditioner that preservers, conditions and
restores any type of leather. There is a drying time of 6 weeks for the process to complete and the lye to chemically
comply as the ancients did also. Each and every batch sold out from my previous
endeavors. My last customer bought all of the last 13 bars because she realised how much effort it took to make this soap
and she feared I would never repeat the process.
We are honored to offer the skills of a Master Craftsman whom makes "one of a kind, collectable
" hoofpicks and knives". His functional "art" has been sold locally and been shipped to many places around
the world. Very popular with woodsmen, hunters and horsemen.
